Paul and Silas find themselves in a prison in Philippi. After being publicly stripped, beaten, and imprisoned, their response is midnight prayer and worship. Joy, apparently, is not bound by our circumstance. (Acts 16:19-34, Ps 142:4-7, Is 53:3, Heb 10:25, Song of Sol 2:11-13)

Conflict is inevitable. A new teaching infects the church of Antioch and we begin to see the church bogged down in disagreement. Conflict handled poorly leads to division, but conflict handled well leads to deeper intimacy and community. Grace, apparently, is worth fighting for. (Acts 15:1-35, Gen 17:9-11, Matt 5:17, Gal 2:11-13, Jn 14:6, Matt 18:15-20, Prov 27:6, Gal 5:1-11, Jn 3:16-17)

(Acts 14:8-20 / Is 44:10,13-20 / Ex 20:3-5 / Rom 1:19-25 / Col 1:18 / Eph 4:14-16 / I Cor 11:1)
